Essential Organics Baking Powder
Baking powder has many uses, including in cooking, cleaning, and deodorizing:
Common use: it is used in any baked goods (such as bread, biscuits, cakes, muffins, pancakes, tortillas, etc) where fermentation flavours from yeast are undesirable or where the batter lacks the elastic structure to hold gas bubbles for more than a few minutes. Because carbon dioxide is released at a faster rate through the acid-base reaction compared to fermentation, bread made with baking powder are often referred to as "quick bread".
Unclogging Drains: Baking powder and vinegar can be an environmentally friendly way to unclog drains. Pour boiling water down the drain to loosen grease, then add half a cup of baking powder down the plughole and let it sit for five minutes
Deodorizing: Baking powder can be used to deodorize trash cans, shoes, and the air. Add baking soda in layers to the trash can to absorb and neutralize odors. You can also wash the trash can with a solution of one cup of baking soda and one gallon of water. Put baking powder in a thin sock and place it in the shoe overnight to help dry out the shoe from the inside and get rid of odors.
