Organic Darjeeling Tea

Grown, produced, and processed in the West Bengal region of India. The Autumnal flush is harvested in the autumn after the rainy season and believed to have a somewhat less delicate flavor and less spicy tones, yet a fuller body and darker color. Some describe the taste of this Darjeeling as balanced, lively with a nutty aroma.

Fresh tea leaves are left to wither in the sun, then tumbled to bruise the leaves in order to allow degrees of oxidation. Finally, the leaves are rolled and heat dried to stop the oxidation process.

Although Darjeeling teas are marketed commercially as "black teas", almost all of them have incomplete oxidation (<90%) and therefore are technically more Oolong than black.

Darjeeling tea contains caffeine.
